Founded in 2022, Brookings Curling Club is proud to be the first and only curling club in Brookings, South Dakota. What began as a grassroots effort to bring curling to our community has quickly grown into a vibrant, inclusive space where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to learn, compete, and connect.
Our Mission
We exist to make curling accessible, welcoming, and fun for everyone. Whether you're stepping onto the ice for the first time or you're a seasoned curler, our club offers a place to grow your skills, build friendships, and be part of something bigger.
We’re committed to:
- Creating a safe, inclusive environment for all curlers
- Offering leagues, bonspiels, clinics, and community events
- Partnering with local organizations to expand access and awareness
- Supporting youth development and lifelong learning through sport
Our Journey
- 2022: Brookings Curling Club is founded with two sheets at Larson Ice Center, driven by community passion and volunteer spirit.
- 2023: Thanks to overwhelming support, we double our capacity to four sheets and acquire our own equipment—stones, brooms, hacks, and scoreboards—through generous donations and curling community partnerships.
- 2024: We become an official member of USA Curling, opening doors to regional and national events, training resources, and a broader curling network.
